LAST Sunday saw the fourth round of the East Anglian BMX Winter Series hosted by the Royston BMX Racing Club.
The wind dried the wet track so the 120 competitors from across the region who ventured out enjoyed some fast competitive racing.
The Rockets had members competing across most classes starting with the Formula 6 category for under-sevens where Jack Todd took second in the A final and younger brother Charlie took second in the Class B Final.
In the Formula 5 class for eight- and nine-year olds Royston's James King finished fourth ahead of team mates Ted Dalleywater (fifth) and Alfie Salmon (seventh).
In the Class B final the win went to Royston's newest member Myles Fisher while Archie York came fifth.
Formula 4 saw Daniel Blanche take third with Josh Peters and Bradan Blanche also putting in good performances while Matthew Harris finished sixth in the Class B final.
Moving up the age range, James Handleigh led the field all day to take the class win Formula 3 meet just ahead of Ethan Vernon in second with Aaron Dalleywater battling home for sixth, and in Formula 2 Danny Thedam took third in the B class. The largest class of the day - Formula 1 for riders aged 19 and over - saw Dave Godfrey taking seventh in the A final. Danny Ancell took second in the C final and Matt Salmon won the E final.
The final event of the Winter Series will be held at Ipswich on February 15.
