Rockets notch six wins at Ipswich

Royston Rockets turned out in force once more for round eight of the East Anglia BMX Summer Series, and came away with six wins at the Ipswich track. Kele Newall started the day well for The Rockets with a third place finish in the under-six year class A

Royston Rockets turned out in force once more for round eight of the East Anglia BMX Summer Series, and came away with six wins at the Ipswich track.

Kele Newall started the day well for The Rockets with a third place finish in the under-six year class A final, with Alfie Salmon coming home in seventh place.

In the B final Tommy Pethchell also took third place.

In the year seven class A final, Josh Peters claimed Royston's first win of the day, pipping Ted Dalleywater and Marmaduke Birt, who finished second and third respectively. Archie York finished fourth.

Daniel Blanche took a fine win in the year eight class, while in the year nine class A final Aaron Dalleywater claimed top spot, with Bradan Blanche finishing seventh.

Matthew Harris and Zak Foreman finished fifth and sixth in the year 10 class.

More success came in the year 13 class, with Aston Blanche taking another win to boost the club's points, with James Handleigh in second place earning a Rider of the Day award.

In the year 14 class Andrew Doherty finished third in his first regional level event, and in the year 16 class Wayne Gutteridge made up for the disappointment of a crash in the previous round with another win.

In the 30-39 Cruiser class, Danny Ancell took fourth spot, while in the 40+ class, Tony Petchell finished second with Darren Foreman taking third place in the Masters class.

In the largest class on the track, Laurence Mapp took the Elite class win and another Rider of the Day trophy.
