REED seconds made the most of damp conditions to beat Nazeing Common Seconds in this friendly match.
Reed batted first, and openers Tom Greaves (53), and George Garrott (69) made a flying start.
They received good support from young Mitchell Cooper, and the in-form batsman finished on 73 not out as Reed closed their innings on 259/3 from their 40 overs.
Jack Tidey took two early wickets as the Nazeing reply started slowly, while Julien Flynn weighed in with a further scalp to leave the visitors on 23/3.
However, the next two batsmen added 81, and Nazeing looked well-placed before the players went off for rain.
When the teams returned Reed took control, and wickets fell quickly allowing the home side to secure a 69 run win.
