A RECORD turnout of 50 athletes helped Royston Runners take victory in the first event in the Advance Performance Midweek League, last Thursday.
In damp conditions at Stevenage , Royston had 33 men and 17 ladies in action, top of the bunch were Ian Murray (second man in 34:15) and Nikki Tyrrell (third lady in 41:02).
Both teams showed their strength in depth, the men winning the race and the ladies finishing third.
This gives Royston Runners an early lead, but only one point separates them from Fairlands Valley Spartans and Bishop's Stortford RC.
