Baldock Town Crusaders U-10 5 Stevenage Borough Yellows 1 CRUSADERS recorded their fourth straight win and extended their unbeaten run to six games. An early shot from Alex Close set the tempo for the Crusaders as they dominated this game from the start. After 12 minutes Daniel Nicholson made a great run down the wing and his cross found Elena Pisapia to open Baldock's account. Three minutes before half time a great jinking run and low shot from Jordan Massey brought the save of the game out of the Stevenage keeper as he strove to keep his side in the game. A goal from a tight angle, that Baldock's keeper Sam Kendle was unlucky not to stop, gave Stevenage hope as they levelled the score just after half time. But Baldock restored their lead two minutes later when Pisapia scored her second. Eight minutes into the second half Crusaders made the game safe with two goals in less than a minute. A corner from Matthew Judges found its way to George Higginson at the back post. Then from the kick off Nicholson won the ball straight back for Baldock, and played a series of one-twos with Connor Doyle, as they carved their way through, and finally passed to Higginson who scored again. With two minutes to go Baldock scored the best goal of the game, Ryan Savage winning the ball in defence and setting Massey off down the left wing. He played a neat ball into Higginson, whose cross found Close, who took one touch, turned and scored. Melbourn U-9 4 Baldock Town Templers 0 MELBOURN bounced back from a disappointing trip to Biggleswade to take the league points. Early exchanges saw some end-to-end play that displayed a tough competitive edge. Hard tackling by Baldock and some good passing by Melbourn nearly ended with goals for both sides. Finally, Daniel Alison broke through on the right for Melbourn, to reach the touchline and pull back a cross that was met by Tommy Fallon who struck a first time effort into the left hand corner. Further pressure by Melbourn saw Harry Carter break through the middle and find the target from the edge of the box to make it 2-0. The second half started with Melbourn's poor man-marking making them fortunate not to concede to the Templers. But midway through the half Carter crossed to Fallon who neatly slotted home number three. Fallon was in fine form, and it was not long before he saw the keeper off his line and completed his hat-trick with a perfectly weighted shot.
