BASSINGBOURN swimmer Alex Raine rounded off an impressive season by earning a top 10 spot in the English Junior Swimming Championships.
Thirteen-year-old Raine, a member of the Biggleswade-based Mid Beds Swim Squad, was part of a Mid Beds' team which reached the final of the under-15 boys' 4x100 metre freestyle relay final in Sheffield.
He was joined by fellow Bassingbourn Village College pupil Ellie Mason, 13, who swam for the Mid Beds' under -15 girls' freestyle and medley relay teams.
Both youngsters qualified for the annual championships after impressive displays in county and regional competitions earlier this year.
