ROYSTON Tennis Club held their annual Club Championships Mixed Doubles final on Saturday.

Christine Knight and Peter Goodbody faced Pru Burton and Michael Easton and it was Christine and Peter who took the first set 6-4.

However, Pru and Michael came back to take the second set 6-3 before they then romped away in the deciding set 6-1. Pru is now aiming to make it a hat-trick of trophies having won the Ladies Singles title the week previously when she teams up with Karin Lambert to face Ann Smith and Christine Knoght in the Ladies Doubles final this Sunday on the Meridian courts.

Meanwhile the under-16 boys won their County semi-final match in style at home against Hertford on Saturday with an impressive 5-1 result.

Team players were Lewis Harley, Isaac Pickett, Andrew Betts and Neil Addison. The final will be played at Gosling Tennis Centre in Welwyn Garden this Sunday.
