STEEPLE Morden slipped to defeat at Foxton II on Saturday and now look almost certain candidates for relegation.
Foxton batted first and the Morden bowlers put in a good performance as Martin Osborne (10-3-23-3) took the first three wickets including griffin for 50.
Paul Jarman (8-1-39-4) and Graham Jarman (10-3-26-1) kept on the pressure but Lees’ hard hitting 39 took his team to 165-8.
On a good wicket and fast outfield, this looked a target Morden could reach but a fine opening spell by Gray soon had them in trouble at 19-4.
Opener Paul Jarman was joined by Tim Tidey and the runs began to flow before the latter went for a fine 43 while Jarman (43) soon followed, both falling to Cooper who finished with 4-19 as Morden closed on 132-8 knowing they must win at least two of their remaining games to have a chance of staying up.
