IT was more success for both Buntingford teams on Saturday as they followed up last weekend's victories with another two league wins.

Buntingford firsts came through with a hard- fought victory away to Rickling Ramblers, with Rickling skipper Stuart Prentice (31) deciding to bat first on a wicket that looked sure to deteriorate.

And it seemed like a good decision, when Prentice was joined by Andy Woods (21). However, both batsman fell in quick succession, and the Rickling batting never recovered.

The Buntingford attack again showed their depth, with Richard Pearce (10-2-25-1) and Chris Chambers (10-2-31-1) both bowling well and restricting Rickling to 60-2 from the first 20 overs.

Postman Dan Duff (10-3-15-3) delivered a first class spell, with spinner Mahe (10-5-14-4) polishing off the Rickling tail.

Their total of 98 all out was poor, but on an unpredictable pitch, it was never going to be an easy task for Buntingford.

Steve Paola (0) was dismissed in the second over and Chris Chambers (7) went soon after. Richard Pearce (8), Stuart Lawrence (0) and Martin Coote (9), all fell to the pace attack of Rickling's Kiff (10-2-24-3), Fairall (10-4-34-2) and Woods (10-1-33-2) to leave Buntingford tottering on 46-6.

Buntingford desperately needed a good partnership and it came. Barry Walker (27) and Chris Ford (18 not out) took the score along to 81 before Walker was dismissed.

Izuru Channa (9) then joined Ford and that partnership saw their side home with 15 overs to spare.

The seconds made it fives wins from five in their home game against Rickling Ramblers seconds.

Despite losing the early wicket of John Clements (13) with the score on 30, the Buntingford batsmen soon rallied round, with opener Neale Dookheran leading the way.

After Kev Poulton was dismissed for 21, Peter Townsend (1) followed, with Chambers (14) close behind. However, Dookheran continued to chip away and was ably assisted by Wilkus, taking the score to 153, before Wilkus was bowled for 20.

Dookheran took the score to 176, before he was dismissed for a fine 72, before Clive Glasscock (38 not out) helped his side reach 208-7 from their 45 overs.

Rickling were always going to struggle to keep up with the run rate required, although the gutsy Weaver managed to hit 47 runs.

Only two other Rickling batsman reached double figures, with Bunting scoring 21 and Chambers finishing on 24.

The wickets were shared fairly evenly between the Buntingford bowlers and Rickling eventually reached 135-9 from their allotted overs, to give Buntingford victory by 73 runs.
