ROYSTON Rockets' riders braved miserable conditions to post some good results at the first round of the East Anglia winter regional series.

In the formula five class for eight- and nine-year-olds Royston had a good turn out and all the club's riders made the A final.

Josh Peters took the win, James King finished second, Archie York came home in sixth and Marmaduke Birt was placed seventh, with all riders having to come to terms with surface water and muddy conditions.

The Rockets had eight members competing in the formula six class for under-sevens and Kele Newall finished fourth in the A final.

In the formula two class for 15- to 18-year olds, Danny Theedam took seventh and in the largest class of the day - formula one for over 18s - two Royston riders made it to the class B final with Danny Ancell finishing third and Carl Burt fourth.
