HAVING described his side's FA Cup win as the "perfect night" Royston Town manager Paul Attfield is setting his sights on three more league points, writes TOM BROWN.

Rampant Crows host fellow promotion hopefuls New Bradwell St Peter at Garden Walk on Saturday, and enter the match full of confidence on the back of four straight competitive victories.

Attfield told The Crow: "Tuesday's win is certainly up there with the best in my time at the club - it was the perfect performance. We were determined and organised throughout and hopefully that will give us a lot of confidence.

"What it has done is send a message, not just to other clubs, but to ourselves.

"It showed that we are good enough to play at that level, if not higher. I know that they are certainly capable of that, I just need the players to believe - because they are.

"We gave them a lot of problems going forward, and we also looked very strong at the back. Keeping a clean sheet against a team like Wembley was very pleasing indeed.

"It was a good game to watch and one that I certainly enjoyed."

However Attfield remains as level headed as ever, and insists The Crows will take one step at a time.

He said: "We're under no illusions, and it's important that we keep our feet on the ground. We can only focus on the next game, and that is New Bradwell on Saturday.

"They are a side that I rate very highly, and having come up against them last season, we know that they will be a difficult team to beat.

"New Bradwell have similar ambitions as ourselves, and having lost last weekend they will be looking to bounce back.

"So it's important that we maintain the tempo from the Wembley game. "

And Attfield will hope to add another three points before the club's FA Cup preliminary round game at AFC Hayes a week on Saturday, with a trip to Arlesey Athletic on Wednesday.

"It's certainly a game we could win," said Attfield.

"AFC Hayes play a level above Wembley, so on paper it will be a tough game. However, they haven't started their league season too well, and I think we'll have a good chance of progressing.

"If we play like we did on Tuesday, then I would be confident, and we would at least look to get them back to Garden Walk.

"But we've got two tough league games to think about before then, and however nice it would be to put a good cup run together, the league is our priority.
