One of Buntingford Swimming Club's most talented youngsters was this week celebrating after finishing fifth in her first modern pentathlon.

Georgia Makin, 11, was in the running for third place during the two-day competition at Warwick at the weekend, but slipped two places after the shooting event.

The youngster now aims to compete in the National Youth Championships next month.

She has already this year represented Hatfield in a national swimming final, competed at the Hertfordshire county swimming championship meeting and raced in a national biathlon championships. Georgia is shown receiving her fifth placed shield from Olympic silver medalist Kate Allenby
