FOOTBALL: Tyrone Parry got off to the perfect start as Town reserve team manager with his side taking all three points against battling Lemsford.

And Town were in front after just 15 minutes, when new boy Rob Rowlingson pounced on Tom Bradley's headed interception with a clean close range finish.

The hosts then had a strong spell of possession, with Town forced to weather the storm.

However, when a long ball over the Town defence caught them square, a Lemsford striker edged into position and fired in an equaliser.

Buntingford hit back with a series of chances, which all went begging.

But when a corner was well flighted to the back post Lee Ridings was on hand with a calm finish under pressure, to restore Town's lead.

Moments later keeper Sam Chester denied Lemsford with a brilliant reaction save.

In the second half Town needed centre-backs Ridings and Craig Parry on top form, with the pair thwarting a number of Lemsford attacks.

Then against the run of play Carl Frostick extended the visitors' lead with a confident finish just inside the box following some clever play by youngster James Selby.

And Town could have increased the score further with both Sam Ridings and Frostik going close late on, but the points were already in the bag.

Parry said: "It was a very pleasing win, especially playing away from home. We created a lot of chances, which was good to see, as well as looking equally as strong at the back."

Buntingford Reserves have no fixture this weekend.

# Two goals from Phil Fisher were not enough to secure Buntingford first team a win at Codicote.

Buntingford were already 3-0 down when Fisher made his mark, and despite some late pressure they were unable to grab an equaliser.

Town remain fourth in the table, and travel to rock bottom Bedmond Sports and Social Club this weekend.

Great Chishill 2 Linton Granta Res 1

Great Chishill finally ended their goal drought with a deserved win against Linton.

But the hosts needed keeper Ian Gallagher on top form after the Linton attack started brightly, with the Chishill number one making a couple of decent early saves.

However, Chishill soon found some momentum of their own and striker Steve McGee almost put them in front, but his effort cannoned off the post.

But the lively striker was soon on target when he fired in an angled drive following Jonathan Drury's clever pass.

And the home side could have had a few more in the first half with chances falling to McGee and James Bennett.

After the break Granta were instantly rewarded for their attacking football with a well-taken strike from 18 yards.

But Chishill regained the lead after 65 minutes when Shaun Wilson broke down the right and touched the ball inside for Jonathan Drury to fire home with a superb first-time strike into the top corner.

Gary Radford came close to adding a third with a lob that went narrowly over the bar, and Elliot Drury saw a long-range shot tipped over by the Linton keeper.

The nerve-settling third goal never came, but Chishill did more than enough to hold on.

Great Chishill: Gallagher; R Drury, Saward, Lombari, Burrows; Wilson, Bennett, E Drury, J Drury, Radford; McGee. (Sub): Wiltshire.
