THE fourth and final match of the Royston and District Angling Club's President's Cup took place at Rookery Waters, Pidley, on Sunday in conjunction with Rugby Cement AC and Eternit AC.

The match was won by Ian Palmer of Rugby with 28 lbs 2 oz, second was Andy Day, also of Rugby, with 27 lbs 5 oz while third was Steve Speed of Rugby with 9 lbs 13 oz.

Chris Monk of Royston was fourth with 7 lbs 7 oz and Brian Newman, who is a member of all three clubs, was fifth with 6 lbs 15 oz and secured enough points to win the President's Cup.

Runner-up was Jamie McGuire who beat his father into third place on aggregate weight.

The final match of 2009 will be the Fur and Feather at Thriplow Reservoir on Sunday December 6.

There will be a �5 entry fee and a bank side raffle will also be held.

The proceeds will go to Meldreth Manor School.
