THE under-eights remain unbeaten this season after two further wins against Letchworth on Saturday.

The Blues took a 3-0 lead into half-time with goals from Jack McMeechan (2) and Bradley Reeves.

Letchworth scored twice in the second half but so did Cougars with two special goals one direct from a corner for Reeves and the fifth from Connor Poulton to wrap up a 5-2 win.

The Whites won their match 2-1. They enjoyed most the possession thanks to strong midfield play from Ryan Peck and Joe Tokley. Peck had a major assist in the opener which Sam Ward bundled over the line and then scored the second himself. Letchworth grabbed a consolation goal towards to end.

There was also double success for the under-10s against Fairlands Youth.

A close A team game saw Cougars create some great chances with some superb passing moves.

A fine team performance with great saves from Josh Poulton allowed Cougars to edge into the lead when a great cross from George Ganellin was finished by Liam Price. Fairlands pulled a goal back, but hat-trick hero Price finished the day off with a fine back kick which lobbed over the keeper.

The B team completed the double against six-man Fairlands, winning 2-1.

Both under-11 teams went down to 5-0 defeats against Bishop's Stortford.

The Whites were holding their own up to midway through the first half against a strong Stortford attack but an injury to their goalkeeper proved to be the turning point.

The Blues struggled in the first half against a well organised side and went in 5-0 down.

However, they came back more strongly in the second half with a spirited performance and it was mainly Tommy Walsingham's goalkeeping skills that prevented Stortford from adding to their tally.

Cougars' under-14s progressed in the league cup with a 3-2 win against Austen Arrowheads.

A brace of goals from Michael Holland and excellent link up play between Liam Harler and Scott Piggott to make it three, saw Cougars safely into the second round.

In the first half Cougars defence had to absorb a lot of pressure from the Arrowheads powerful forwards, but hard work from Nathan Hutchings, Ollie Townsend and Ollie Woodcock denied them.

Once Cougars started to pass and move effectively, they played some excellent football which led to Holland's first goal and a half time lead. In the second half Cougars came out firing on all cylinders and two goals quickly followed.

With a three goal cushion Cougars nearly let Arrowheads back in the game, after they conceded two goals.

Piggott nearly added to his tally but saw a goal-bound shot hit the woodwork and the Arrowheads keeper make an excellent save to deny him. With only a single goal separating them it led to a tense final few minutes, but Cougars held on defiantly.

The under-15s returned to their winning ways with a 5-3 win at Bedwell Rangers.

A Joe Scarott spot kick after nine minutes set them on their way, followed by a goal from Harry Lee-Evans and Jack Clark-Ward - the opponents pulled one back before half time.

The second half saw a close range shot put in by Joshua Wagstaff but Bedwell fought back scoring a further two goals but Clark-Ward put away his second goal to secure the match.

The under-13 Whites put up a brave challenge against high-flying Wymondly Park before going down 9-1.

Despite the scoreline Michael Hardy pulled off some great saves and the Cougars Back line worked tirelessly to prevent the Wymondly attack marshalled brilliantly by Jordan Green and Bayo Adeyemni.

Sam Wallace filled in at right back whilst Bradley Miller was a stalwart at left back. Oliver Lee-Stevens grabbed a consolation goal.

Cougars under-11 girls were away to Bushey Rangers, and the two sides were fairly evenly matched.

There were chances for both teams, but good defending from Elouise Lynette and some fine saves from Emma Trehearn kept the score at 0-0.

Meanwhile, the under-13 girls gained their first points of the season with an excellent 4-1 win against Hemel Hempstead Town.

The girls dominated from the start with some excellent work in midfield by the hard working Gaby Hodgson and Kirsty Hill, the Hemel keeper made two excellent saves from Chloe Camper before Cougars took the lead with a long range effort from Alex Hunt, Cougars doubled their lead just before the break with an excellent goal from Holly Trehearn.

Buntingford started slowly in the second half and Hemel pulled a goal back with a goal that gave Jayde Tokely no chance.

Cougars were quick to reply and after some good work out wide from Lucy Bell, hesitation in the Hemel defence allowed Camper to fire home to restore the two goal margin.

An excellent all-round display kept Hemel at bay with all three points being secured with Camper's second.
