BOTH the under-12 Templars and under-14 Knights took a further step towards reaching their respective League Cup finals with narrow quarter-final victories. Templars overcame a tricky trip to Potton, with two goals from Ben Jones helping them move into the last four of their competition with a 2-1 win. The Knights also took their place in the semi-finals as they avenged last season's cup defeat by Stevenage Colts, with Tom James grabbing the only goal of the game. The under-10 Knights were beaten 2-0 at Stevenage Borough Tigers. The under-11 Templars still have a good chance of finishing in the top two of Division One as two goals from Sam Talbot and one each from Daniel Young and Bonham Harper gave them a convincing 4-0 win at home to Knebworth. The under-12 Knights and Lancers both suffered defeats, with the Knights going down 5-0 at Broadhall and the Lancers 7-0 at home to Austen Arrowheads. Three late goals from Wymondley Park gave them a flattering 4-0 win against an under-13 Templars side which had been on top for much of the second half. The under-13 Knights continue their improved form with a 4-3 win over Bishop's Stortford Jets. An Alex Caple goal in the second half was the under-15 Crusaders' only consolation as they were beaten 3-1 at Bedwell Rangers. A weakened under-16 Templars side battled hard before losing 7-4 against Royston Town. The Templars goals were shared between Elliot Snook, Cameron Brawley, Oliver Lee and Brendan Casey. The under-16 Crusaders remain very much in the division two promotion race after a Simon Vooght goal earned them a 1-1 draw at Stotfold. The under-17 Crusaders must have known it was not going to be their day as they hit the bar three times and had two shots cleared off the line in their game with Shefford Saints, who took the points with a 3-0 victory.
