A Premier League club captain will referee a charity football match at Royston Town’s Garden Walk ground next month.
Norwich City skipper Russell Martin will be the man in the middle as a Cardiac Risk in the Young (C.R.Y.) All Star XI, managed by ex-Cambridge captain Paul Wanless, face a Cambridge United Past and Present XI, led by United director of football Jez George, on Sunday, March 16, 2pm kick-off.
Star names set to feature in the game are Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson, Woking forward Scott Rendell, former U’s and Leicester City striker Trevor Benjamin and ex-Chelsea defender Danny Granville.
Entrance to the game is £5 for adults and £1 for children.
Every penny raised will go to C.R.Y. a charity which was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to young sudden cardiac death and sudden death syndrome.
