THE new-look Fowlmere squad kicked off their pre-season this week with head coach Steve Walker optimistic about the campaign ahead.
Despite losing 2-0 to Bassingbourn on Saturday, Fowlmere bounced back with a rewarding 3-0 win over Bedwell Rangers three days later.
After a first-half stalemate, Fowlmere came out strongly and attacked their opponents from the off.
And their persistence was rewarded with goals from Ben Sidet, Darren Sewell and Steve Cook.
Walker said: "It's going well so far, although we know we need to improve in a few areas.
"We've a lot of new players and they've looked encouraging - particularly Tom Fulk in goal, who saved a great penalty on Tuesday night.
"Some of the new signings have given us some strength in attack which I feel is important.
"It looks like we could have a good year.
