It was changing of the guard at Heydon Grange Golf Club last weekend as the 2015 captains made way for the in-coming 2016 captains.

In the traditional manner last year’s captains putted out on the 18th green before handing over to the new captains to start their reign with a drive off the first tee.

Men’s captain David Tomkins pulled his to the left into the pond, much to the amusement of the 100 or so onlookers.

With the pressure off senior’s captain Richard Gardner and lady’s captain Sue Gailllard were more successful and hit their drives down the middle.

There was then an 18 hole stableford won by Darren Masters in the men’s, Mick Williams in the seniors and Wendy Osborne in the ladies with £1,400 raised for DEBRA and the Alzheimer’s Society, the nominated charities for this year’s season.
