MORE than 100 members gathered at Royston Golf Club on Sunday to see the new Captains' Drive-In.

Despite a very heavy downpour an hour before, it brightened up in time to see the four captains tee off from the putting green.

Junior captain Greg Fyson led the way with an enormous drive followed by senior captain Stuart Knight and lady captain Alice Lewis.

The crowd waited for the new club captain Sid Seward to tee off and although his swing was accurate and true less could be said for the ball which had no core and travelled just 48 yards.
