STEEPLE Morden lost by 55 runs at Comberton on Saturday.
After winning the toss and putting his opponents into bat, Morden were in a good position as Martin Osborne 10-2-32-3 and James Sandford kept Comberton to 70-3 at the half way stage, but good batting all down the order took them to 200 despite the efforts of Sandford 10-1-37-2 and Graham Jarman 9-1-35-3.
With the wicket still playing well, Morden had every chance of gaining a victory but they had an early setback when they lost a wicket in the third over. Nick Adams joined Sean Williams and they took the score to 50 before Williams departed. Adams, playing his first game of the season, made a fine 44 and was unlucky not to reach his half century. Paul Jarman (32) and Duncan Warner (24) did their best to push the score along but Cook bowled a good spell taking three wickets and hand his side victory.
