Royston II 22 Burwell II 37

THE first quarter of this match looked promising as Royston went in level but during the second quarter they were unable to match the consistent shooting from Burwell and fell behind.

Although Royston made changes and improvements were made, they were unable to pull back after half time allowing Burwell to keep their strong lead.

The final quarter improved once again, but Burwell did not lose their cool and although Royston battled to the end they could not close the gap.

Royston will be looking to improve their league position on Saturday, October 17, when they take on CoJags II. Player-of-the-match was Ellie Harnwell.

Royston 47 Jets 30

ROYSTON moved back to the County League this season and the first task was to tackle old rivals Jets.

Royston were missing Emma Kelly for this game but the squad was still strong and they came out of the blocks quickly to score most of their goals on the centre pass.

It was a lead they never looked like losing and some good team play gave them a deserved 47-30 points victory. Player-of-the-match was Regan Rooney.

Royston: Claire Target, Tracey Stimson, Karen Hume, Regan Rooney, Hannah White, Tracy Durrant, Anna Pinner, Jo Moxham.
