THE North Herts Schools’ Senior Athletics Championships were successfully held at the Ridlins Stadium last week and Meridian School came away with a number of medals.
Nine of the athletes finished in medal positions with all the entrants coming in the top six. Amy Cooper was the star athlete of the day becoming district champion in both the 200m and triple jump.
Overall the school managed a respectable fourth place in the combined competition with the points being carried forward to the District Championships in June when athletes in Years 7-10, from both Greneway and Meridian, compete for the overall championship trophy.
