AFTER narrowly missing out in last week's opener against Lode, Melbourn returned to BIS Division 5A action with a well-deserved victory over Comberton.
Despite having the majority of the early possession, the home side fell behind after Andy Edwards gave away a penalty.
But his blushes were spared when Andrew Morris outpaced his full-back to find Russell Cooper to head home.
After the break, Melbourn were rewarded with a second when Morris fired past former Melbourn keeper Dave Fallon.
Comberton pushed players forward, but Mick Walker held firm.
