THE Royston Crows junior running team left the Wheathamstead 2km fun run at the weekend with three of the four medals on offer, and further cemented their position as one of the most promising clubs in the area.

Nine-year-old Sophie Jones won gold in the girls category, a place that put her tenth overall.

In the boys category, Mark Norman won silver in his debut for the Crows and was closely followed by team-mate Dustin Hone, who took the bronze medal.

Matt Cooper and Thomas Cooper ensured Royston were top finishing 9th and 14th respectively.

Toby Hone opted to challenge the seniors over the multi-terrain 10km event. The 15-year-old used his strength from the cross-country season to finish in a creditable 25th.
