THE Men's Captain's and Ladies Captain's Day competitions have been played at Royston Golf Club, with Mark Rogers and Sue Dean crowned the respective winners.

Men's captain Roy Ward hosted a full house and it was Rogers (2 handicap) who came out on top with his 38 points, narrowly seeing off Adrian Shoebridge (9 handicap) into second place on the countback.

In the Ladies Category Captain's Prize Sue Dean's 33 points (33 handicap) proved too good for her field, even though runner-up Paula Offer (23 handicap) pushed her all the way to the finish with 32 points.

The Junior Category was won by Tom Porter (20 handicap) with a creditable 32 points, with Andrew Booker (21 handicap) securing second spot with 28 points.

The Ladies Medal Winners Trophy was won by Marjory Humphreys' net 74 (gross 94 - 20 handicap), with Alice Lewis net 76 (gross 99 - 23 handicap) capturing second place on countback from Tina Collins' net 76 (gross 99 - 23 handicap).

The Pat Pett Foursomes competition was won by Carolyn Devaney and Mary Wilson with a score of net 71.5. Runners-up were Joan Buckerfield and Josie Seward with 74.
