Waltham Abbey 1 Royston Town A 4
THE Crows put in a splendid display and once again overcame premier opposition in the Jubilee Cup by defeating hosts Waltham Abbey on Saturday.
After some disappointing results, this could well reinvigorate Royston's title credentials, with four well-taken strikes.
Striker Adam Stokes opened their account with the only goal of the first-half.
In the second-half, captain Jason Nash pushed his team forward and Town doubled their lead, thanks to a Jordan Wilson finish, after some good play from Pete Hodgson.
Stokes grabbed another for Royston, before a minor lapse in concentration allowed Waltham Abbey to pull one back.
The goal came as a disappointment, especially as Danny Crosk and Mark Evans had been in such control at the heart of Royston's defence.
Their three-goal cushion was restored, however, when youth team player Kerry Chaffey grabbed his first senior goal when released by James Bass.
