Women looking to take up a new outdoor activity with friends are being promised a ‘surprising’ experience at love.golf, a new all-female coaching programme at Royston Golf Club, starting on June 18.
Love.golf has been specially developed for women, with a unique approach focused on coaching while playing the game as a group, rather than simply hitting balls on a practice range.
According to PGA Golf Professional Ryan Wingate, love.golf is helping to transform the game’s outdated image and welcome a new generation of female golfers who may not have considered trying golf before.
Ryan Wingate said: “The great thing about love.golf is that it provides an environment for women to discover, learn and improve skills. Customers frequently say they are surprised at their achievements and the sense of self-confidence and empowerment that comes with this.
“love.golf is ideal for new golfers. All the equipment is provided, you can wear jeans and trainers and you don’t have to be a club member, or even have played before. It’s relaxed, welcoming and probably not at all what you think golf is like.”
love.golf was launched in 2015 on the back of an academic study at the University of Birmingham looking at how golf is taught to women. It also follows a nationwide survey* that found more than 640,000 women said they would be ‘very interested’ in taking up golf.
The all-inclusive love.golf programme costs £95 per person and includes six weekly sessions with PGA Professional Ryan Wingate at Royston Golf Club. The group is welcome to meet socially and encouraged to play and practice together between coaching sessions.
