Under-16s Division Three
AFTER an enthralling away cup victory to Stansted Juniors the Letchworth players looked to build on their league progress and did so with convincing flare.
The Whites defended strongly which meant their 'keeper became a spectator for most of the game while at the other end they scored twice in the first half through Lewis Gentle, who fought his way through the Roebuck defence, and George Lawrence.
Roebuck pushed hard for an opening towards the end of the first half but the Whites weathered the storm and held a 2-0 lead at the break.
The Whites looked good from the off in the second half and their pressure resulted in an unfortunate own goal from a Roebuck defender.
The visitors got a corner which Ryan Walker took and he seemed to have scored directly from it. However Liam Radley claimed it took a snick off his shin pad and after the game the referee confirmed Radley had indeed scored the final goal of the match.
