ROYSTON golfer Lauren Hunt played an important part in the Cambs and Hunts County Girls win over Norfolk on Saturday.

She was instrumental in her team's convincing 6-0 victory, winning both her matches.

The confident display moved Cambs and Hunts a step closer to reaching the Junior Matchplay Finals which take place at Droitwich Golf Club, near Birmingham, in October.

Lauren will be back in action when Cambs and Hunts take on Suffolk on Friday, June 6, and Bedfordshire on Sunday, September 7.

Marcella Tuttle of Golf County Junior Girls said: "Lauren did really well and played a vital part in the team's success.

"We would love to see more girls getting involved in the game and we have some 'have a go' days coming up so they can come along and try their hand."

The have a go days take place at Cambridge club Menzies on Saturday, May 10, and at Gog Magog on Sunday, June 29. For more information contact Marcella Tuttle on 01223 291972 and at marcellatuttle@btinternet.com or visit the website at CHLCGA.co.uk
