Royston got back to winning ways on Sunday with this convincing performance.

The ladies team had lost their previous three games by 2-1 scorelines and were determined to put those results behind them when they faced Kings Sports.

The home side dominated possession right from the start and Emma Chaffey's low strike from the edge of the area put them one goal to the good after just two minutes.

The Crows should have used this goal as a platform on which to build but despite a hatful of chances they struggled to find that second goal.

They continued to pin their opponents back in their own half and such was their dominance that Royston's own goalkeeper Clare Draper didn't even touch the ball until the 42nd minute.

They finally doubled their lead with a well-worked goal just before the break when Leanne Buchannan won the ball and laid it off to VJ Foulger who set up Wendy Webster who slid the ball past the advancing keeper at the second attempt.

Despite playing into a strong headwind, Royston continued in the second half as they had finished the first.

Chaffey, Foulger, Webster and Marie Miller all had chances but not one of them was able to put the ball away.

It was substitute Sharon Pinner who finally added a third following a strong break down the left by Foulger, but this was soon followed by a Kings Sports score.

Goalkeeper Clare Draper struggled to clear a back pass into a strong wind and the ball fell to one of the visiting team who was able to put the ball into an empty net.

Aside from this once incident, Draper remained little more than a spectator for the rest of the game as her team continued to pile on the pressure and search for even more goals.

Royston's fourth and final score came courtesy of Pinner in added time, a goal which hammered the final nail in the Kings Sports coffin and put the game to bed.
