Three go-karters have driven the road to success, taking top honours in their battle for race-track supremacy.

Stephen Artus, Chris Thompson, and Vernon Clarke all placed in the top three of their respective divisions in the Red Lodge Prokart Championship in Suffolk.

Artus, from Bassingbourn, secured top spot in the heavyweight kart class with one race to spare, outclassing nearest rival Roy Cornish by nearly 50 points.

In the extremely competitive lightweight class the other drivers, both from Royston, showed off their abilities with Thompson second and Clarke third.

They were narrowly beaten to the championship title this year by Liam Savage, with only 15 points separating the two top drivers.

Savage was himself beaten to first place in the overall standings by Thompson last year.

The annual Red Lodge Prokart Championship title is decided over ten rounds, from January to November.
