MARVIN Joyner slumped to another defeat this week in the Arthur Melling Memorial League.
Joyner was due to play Trevor Huntley but injury meant the match was postponed.
Instead, league leader Arran Grimes, not due to play this week, brought forward his November fixture with Joyner and this meant the pair, due to play together in the doubles next week, faced each other for a third week in a row.
Joyner took the first two sets but Grimes battled hard to take back the third and fourth.
After going 4-1 down in the final set, it looked like Grimes' record start to the season had ended.
However, four straight aces sparked a fantastic comeback and the set finished 6-4 to Grimes.
The pair face Kate Stannard and her partner in the doubles next week.
