THE weather again played a major factor in Baldock's weekend fixtures with many teams suffering more cancellations.

The under-14 Templars went out of the county cup in the third round with a 5-1 defeat against a strong Hemel Aces side.

Tyron Saunders scored the Templars' consolation goal.

The under-seven Templars dominated their game against Hitchin Town throughout, with Robbie Dewing the hero with both goals, the second being a fine chip.

A last-minute goalmouth scramble led to the only goal of the game in the under-seven Crusaders game against Hitchin B and denied Baldock a share of the points.

It was better news for the under- 10 Templars and Crusaders who both continued their winning ways against Bedwell Rangers.

Two goals from top scorer Charlie Briggs gave the Templars a 2-0 victory over Bedwell A, while the Crusaders confirmed their leadership of Division B after a Kain Linnell hat-trick and a goal from Nicholas Allin gave them a convincing 4-0 win over Bedwell B.

The Knights and Lancers both came away from their trips to Bassingbourn with a point.

It was bad news for the under-11 Knights, who were beaten 8-4 in a highly entertaining game at Arlesey Town.

The under-12 Crusaders also suffered a defeat, albeit a narrow one, losing 2-1 at Sawbridgeworth.

Toby Harvey netted the consolation goal for Baldock.

The under-13 Templars booked their place in the next round of the league cup after a tense contest against Fairlands, that had to be settled on penalties.

James Canning and Josh Camborne-Paynter both kept their cool to slot home their respective spot kicks to send the Templars through with a 2-0 victory.

Goals from Jordan Davis and Ross Cloverley could not prevent the under-13 Knights losing 4-3 at Arlesey Town.

And the under-13 Lancers picked up a valuable point at Royston Celtic as goals from Ben Cartwright and Lee Rogers earned them a 2-2 draw.

In the under-15 section the Crusaders and Lancers faced opposition from higher divisions in the league cup.

The Crusaders breezed through to the next round with an excellent 3-1 win over Austen Arrowheads.

The Lancers almost joined them but lost on penalties after holding a strong Knebworth side to a 3-3 draw. Lee Chapman, Joel Strickland and Sam Frazer-Bossom scored the Lancers' goals.
