A DISAPPOINTING performance from Baldock on Saturday saw them slump to a nine-wicket home defeat at the hands of Hertingfordbury.

Despite winning the toss and choosing to bat on a good wicket, Baldock managed only a paltry 102 all out from 51 overs. A well-struck 21 from Julian Muir was the only highlight as Hertingfordbury's opening bowlers ran riot.

In reply, Hertingfordbury batted with discipline, and reached 103-1 in 34.5 overs. James Peacock picked up the only wicket.

Baldock's Sunday team also lost, but put in an improved performance against Great Gaddesden.

Great Gaddesden batted first, and reached 196-6 from 40 overs. Rob Sommers bowled economically to finish with 0-15 off eight overs, ably supported by Alistair Jones (0-22) and skipper Graham Letford (1-35).

The target was always going to be a tough one to reach for Baldock, and despite a good start, they scored 145-9 off their 40 overs.

Jones top scored with 25 not out, while Letford made 23 and Nick Blenkin hit 22.
