GOALS rained down as Melbourn thrashed Camden Reserves.
There was little sign of what was to come during a relatively close first half, which saw Melbourn take a 2-0 lead into the break. Recent signing Dave Plester opened the scoring with a well-taken header. James Hill added the second, powering the ball over the line from close range.
In the past Melbourn have struggled to achieve good results against Camden, so they came out for the second half determined to build on their advantage. Led inspirationally by skipper Jason Gray, they scored a further eight goals.
In-form Ben Wright struck four times, while Ian Frances weighed in with a brace.
Steve Marriott and Andrew Ridden also netted to complete the rout.
