THE Chris Boote Memorial Tournament gets under way on Monday - in what promises to be another entertaining two weeks of football.
The tournament was set up in 1983 to celebrate the life of Chris Boote who died of cancer aged 24.
Since then, the competition has raised £36,000 for the Cambridge Cancer Research Fund.
Chris' mum, Diana said: "Chris played for a number of teams and really loved his football. It's a fitting way to remember him as well as raising funds for a very worthy cause."
Barrington, Meldreth, Fowlmere, Metals, Melbourn, AFC Rock, Cambourn Rovers, and Foxton will all be taking part, with the final taking place on Friday, May 25 at Fowlmere Football Club.
