RYAN Hutchings was awarded Royston Amateur Boxing Club's boxer of the year title at the club's presentation evening.
The talented 14-year-old from Meridian School had impressed with a number of distinguished displays.
Coach Tony Carolan said: "All the boys have done exceptionally well this year, but Ryan has been the pick. He's had some very hard bouts, but whatever the outcome he's always given 100 per cent.
"Ryan has all the credentials you would look for in a boxer and is learning all of the time - he's got a lot of potential."
Hutchings received his award from club chairman Bill Davidson at the White Bear Pub in Royston, on Saturday night.
Carolan added: "It's been a good year for the club and the boys wouldn't be where they are without the help of all the coaches, and chairman Bill Davidson and vice chairman Colin Mingay.
