Bishop's Stortford 1 Royston Ladies II 1 ROYSTON'S outside chance of Five Counties Hockey League promotion came to an end as they failed to beat Stortford. The game started keenly with Stortford having most of the play. The visitors struggled to find their form and, as a result, the home side were quick to intercept Royston's passes and had most of the play. Royston fought to keep the majority of the possession, with player of the match Lucy Davidson working hard in midfield to feed the strikers on the wing. The visitors' determination paid off when Davidson caught a rebound ball and pushed through a break in the Stortford defence to put Royston a goal up. This lead was maintained until just before half-time, when Stortford managed to equalise. Royston played an improved game in the second half, holding Stortford to just the one goal, and were unlucky not to convert any of the numerous opportunities that came their way.
