In the first of two encounters Bassingbourn ran out comfortable winners against Stevenage Borough Tigers.

The pace of the game was quickly set after Bassingbourn created a number of early chances.

After bombarding the opposition's area Bassingbourns dominance was rewarded when James Ashton broke the deadlock.

The goal prompted a quick Tigers response and the home side levelled the scores.

Unfortunately for the Tigers the resurgence didn't last too long.

Jo Gunn-Roberts put Bassingbourn back in front after rounding a stranded Stevenage keeper just before half-time.

In the second half Bassingbourn took further control with goals from Adam Fleming and a second from Gunn-Roberts.

Ashton also added his second to complete the scoring after a long range effort flew into the net.

Bishop's Stortford 5

A stunning individual performance from Hares striker Katie Grehan put her side well on the way to securing three points and her goals alone would have won this game.

Grehan's seven-goal haul combined with a Yasmine Pratt hat-trick and a Vicky Hilton strike was more than enough to seal victory in this 16-goal clash.

Hormead Hares U-13 Girls 1 Royston Town 9

A depleted Hares team put up a brave early fight in their encounter with Royston.

But with only 10 players Hares were soon stretched, and the Royston attack proved too strong.

Becky Turner grabbed Hormead's consolation goal.

A double brace from Ewan Edwards set Hormead on the road to victory as an inspired Hares side proved too much for HC Cougars.

It was an excellent performance from the home side and with the in-form Edwards' goals, and strikes from Louis Bard and Robbie Levy, the outcome was never in question.
