THIS derby game always brings out the fighting spirit in both teams, and this match proved to be no exception.

Celtic put on a good display of accurate passing as the game opened, and this continued throughout.

Tactically, the team worked well together and made some worthy shots at goal but unfortunately these never made the back of the net.

Keeper Ben Watson was on his toes and made some great saves when the opponents infiltrated Celtic's strong defence of Jordan Cooney and Robbie Filby, while the midfielders and forwards pushed on putting pressure on the visitors defence.

There was perseverance in abundance as Celtic tested the Colts keeper time and time again.

However, their battling was in vain as they struggled to make any significant change to the final score.

Although this game ended goalless, it was a well-deserved draw.

AFTER having their last match against Colts B abandoned because of a thunder storm, Celtic B were looking forward to the game.

The first half saw Ethan Lewis again put in some fine runs, and Eamon Henderson's shot across goal unfortunately did not make it into the goalmouth, while a scramble in front of the Colts' goal saw three shots fail to go in.

This disappointment was further compounded when a corner in the last minute of the first half resulted in a goal from Colts.

The second half saw the home team come out determined to make amends and their efforts were rewarded when an equaliser came from Eamon, his first goal for Celtic.

This was a well battled game and Celtic got the result they deserved.

ANOTHER excellent performance from Bassingbourn's B team saw them totally outclass their opponents.

Strong performances from Emily Arnold and Sean Smith saw them carve out chance after chance.

In Bass's defence Jonno Roope and Robert Winfield were rarely troubled and goalkeeper Christopher O'Connor hardly touched the ball all game.

However, when he did, he duly dispatched the ball up field to start another attack.

Bassingbourn were in free scoring mode, Sean Cook added another three goals to his tally, Emily Arnold scored a well-deserved four, with Tom Bromilow (2), Sean Smith, Jaki Jordan and Robert Winfield also getting on the scoresheet.

A MUDDY pitch on a wet and windy morning in Stevenage saw Bass' struggle to find the form of their previous game.

The hosts started well, with Tom Holcroft having a couple of shots but he failed to find the target, while Tony Aresti also came close, but he too failed to break the dead-lock.

After a swift attacking move, Bedwell were awarded a penalty and despite Gio Tamburello saving the initial spot kick, the Bedwell players reacted quickest to the rebound and slotted the ball into the net.

Soon after the restart Bedwell added another, and Bass were lucky not to concede more.

Karyna Manuel was on hand on several occasions to prevent the home side from adding to the score.

Letchworth GCE Blues U-8 12 Melbourn Dynamos Tigers 0

PLAYING Letchworth for the second week running Tigers got off to a sluggish start, Letchworth's players were more alert and quicker to the ball scoring three quick goals to take control.

Tigers made some progress into the Letchworth half with Connor Patel and Andrew Chitty doing their best to hold the visitors' defence together, Oscar Jones also kept the score at 3-0 with a couple of fine saves.

However the Tigers could not prevent Letchworth grabbing three break away goals to go in 6-0 up at half time.

The second half saw a much more determined effort from the Tigers, forcing the play into the Letchworth half with Matthew Harris and Seb Bishop gaining good possession.

Unfortunately Tigers were repeatedly caught out at the back trying to push forward, with Letchworth showing some excellent finishing in front of goal.
