Great Chishill 6 Cambourne 3

GREAT Chishill pulled off another cup upset sweeping aside Cambourne in the quarter-final of the Bambridge Cup.

They went ahead after just two minutes from a Jonathan Hodge volley and doubled the lead soon after as Gareth Edey scored after some good work from Nick Bramwell.

Hodge grabbed his second and the team's third moments later with a fine lob after the striker latched onto Ian Gallagher's long ball.

Against the run of play Cambourne pulled a goal back before half-time when Luke Tyler deflected into his own goal.

The goal gave Cambourne confidence and minutes into the second-half they scored again.

With Cambourne back in the game, Chishill stepped up a gear with Tyler making amends with a fine solo effort.

The lead was again cut when Cambourne converted a penalty midway through the second-half.

But Chishill were determined to finish off brave Cambourne and did just that with another goal from Hodge, who completed his hat-trick.

Edey twisted the knife even more, by grabbing his second in the dying seconds.

A SPECTACULAR Steve McGee volley was not enough to assure Great Chishill victory in this well contested semi-final.

Their giant-killing run ended as Division One side Sawston proved too strong defensively and after going 3-0 ahead.

Great Chishill started brightly with Dan Manning pulling the strings in midfield and despite an effort from McGee failed to open up Rovers.
