ROYSTON Ladies have won their league with three matches to spare after firstly beating St Albans 2-1 and then Chess Valley 5-0.
Sarah Buckerfield broke the deadlock before St Albans came back strongly to make it 1-1.
Both teams came out fighting after half time and it was Kirsty Penfold who bagged the winning goal and confirmed Royston as league champions.
After securing top spot in their league, Royston continued their winning ways when Kirsty McKenzie (twice), Lucy Davidson, Sophie Gathercole all got on the score sheet to seal an impressive victory against Chess Valley.
Royston men's I endured a miserable 9-2 defeat against Ford.
Andy Drage and Graham Mack's goals were of little consolation after what was a bad performance.
The visitors did manage to raise their game in the second half but it was too little, too late.
Royston II put in a fantastic display to beat bottom side Broxbourne 6-1.
Goals from Perry Noble followed by others from Adam McKenzie and Nick Freeman set them on their way before three more goals in the second half sealed a convincing victory over the already relegated side.
Royston III had a very disappointing weekend which saw them collect no points from two close matches. Royston had lead Saturday's game at Letchworth 2-0, following two strikes from skipper Keith Markham before throwing it away in the second half to lose 3-2.
Sunday's home game against Rickmansworth was also close, but Royston conceded in the second half to give away the points.
Royston IV lost 2-1 to Harpenden IV.
A tight game was lost narrowly 2-1 with the goal scored by David Whitaker.
Royston V recorded their biggest win of the season by firing 10 past Letchworth's sixth team, who could only reply with three.
