Melbourn Dynamos Tigers Under-10 4 Shefford Saints Greens 0

HAT TRICK hero Ayrton Barnes was the Tigers player of the match as he claimed three goals from midfield.

Tigers dominated most of the game and saw early chances missed by Henry Beagles and Kieran Geraghty. Barnes then scored the only goal of the first half as three Tigers players lined up for a shot at the Shefford goal.

Shefford attacked from the start of the second half but Tigers increased their lead as Barnes went on a mazy run from his own penalty area skipping past two challenges before moving the ball onto his right foot to fire low from a tight angle.

It was soon 3-0 as Barnes completed his hat trick with a simple tap in. Robbie Dingwell and Megan Jeray worked tirelessly in midfield to keep possession and it wasn't long before Beagles made it 4-0 with a neat finish.

The competitive midfield work of Matthew Bailey and Tom Fox kept the pressure up which eventually led to a strongly hit free kick from Finlay Burchett finding the bottom corner to make the score 2-0 at half-time.

The second half was much tighter as Hitchin pushed to get back in the game but the introduction of the hard working Shane O'Hare up front kept Hitchin on the back foot.

Stansted Juniors 5 Hormead Hares Under-12 3

IN a fighting display Hares were eventually beaten by Stansted Juniors.

After taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Rhodri Hughes and Sam Huttlestone, Stansted scored three times but Hughes pulled the scores level just before the break with his second goal.

With chances either end in the second half Stansted scored twice more. There were impressive displays at the back from James Scripps and George Spackman and captain Edward Worby controlled the mid field with Jack Taney always looking to cause the Stansted defence problems.

Callum Irons rifled home his second goal of the season before Rovers pulled one back to make the score 2-1 at half time. The second half was much the same with Becan Davies making important saves in the Bassingbourn goal and it needed an excellent late strike from Jacob Stekly to put the match beyond Rovers's grasp.
