Bishop's Stortford Blues 1 Hormead Hares Blacks 0
Under-11s Division Two
IN conditions better suited for mud wrestling than football, the visiting Hormead Hares squad waged a sustained and determined assault on a home team which weathered wave after wave of Hares' attacks only to succumb to a well taken break-away gaol and lose 1-0.
If the tally of corners is indicative of pressure and domination, then Hares won hands down as their tally reached double figures compared to Stortford's tally of two, however their inability to propel countless balls arriving into the six yard box into the back of the net was the root of their downfall.
Hares' back five coped with everything thrown at them with relative ease and this was a good team effort with everyone playing a vital and disciplined role.
The strength of the collective and individual performances ensured that the whole team was awarded player-of-the-match.
