A DOMINANT performance at local rivals Buntingford Cougars saw the under-15s make the short journey home with a 5-1 victory.

In an excellent opening five minutes Hares set the tone for an excellent all round team performance.

The opening goal came by way of David Turner's excellent finish following great build-up play by Daniel Banks-Smith.

Against a tricky Cougars side who looked dangerous on the break Hormead remained strong and focused throughout, the start of the second half Hormead continued in the same vein following some near misses and good saves by keeper Jack Chapman.

It was a towering header from Tommy-Lee Winkworth, burying a great Banks-Smith corner that increased Hormead's lead.

Despite controlling a lot of the game, George Worby and Callum Scowen defended excellently in front of Hares keeper Reece Paine who pulled off some great and brave saves.

Hares capitalised on further chances, with a fierce Scowan shot cannoning off the Cougars defender to nestle in the back of the net.

Turner's second came following another corner this time supplied by DJ Winkworth. In the final minute an excellent 40 yard shot from Cougars' Brad Hill caught Hares unaware to spoil any chance of a clean sheet.

Under overcast skies the under-eights made the short trip to Bishops Stortford in an upbeat mood after last weeks magnificent result.

Hares' Orange side took an early lead through a superbly taken Jake Bradshaw goal when he ghosted into the box and slotted the ball home through a crowd of players.

Despite their best endeavours the Oranges finally went down 2- 1 losers.

Spurred on by the Orange's performance the Blacks took up the mantle taking the game to Stortford.

Last week's double hat-trick hero Joseph de Souza picked up where he left off with yet another treble this week.

Callum Edwards crowned a superb team performance with a beautifully taken goal from the most acute of angles for Hormead to finish worthy 4-0 winners.
