ARRAN Grimes and partner Marvin Joyner set the Arthur Melling Memorial League alight this week.
The pair overwhelmed Kate Stannard and her partner Martin Gadd in the first doubles session of the season as Grimes' leadership seemed to help Joyner finally find his form and pick up his first points of the season as the pair won in straight sets.
An impressive Mike Bentley was left frustrated after his partner Darren Anderson gave a lacklustre performance as the pair lost to Trevor Huntley and Ben Grimes, both of whom returned from injury.
The results mean that Joyner moves off the bottom and Grimes remains undefeated and is only two victories away from taking the title.
