GRENEWAY School joined other schools from North Herts to celebrate the 2012 Olympics handover with a mini Olympic tournament.
The Royston school lined up alongside Knights Templar, Highfield, Fearnhill, Priory and Hitchin Boys and Girls schools and got to grips with boccia, table tennis, football and sportshall athletics in a tournament that also involved a torch relay, opening and closing ceremonies, and a medal ceremony.
Each school became a country for the day, with Greneway representing the 'tricolour' of France, as Amber Rivers and Luke Bailey carried out their flag-bearing responsibilities.
In the athletics, Greneway claimed a deserved gold medal after impressing in the standing triple jump and long jump, indoor javelin, speed bounce and running.
Jade Roberts, Alayiah Kenealy and Georgie Fuller came fourth in the boccia, while Alice Atkins, Emily Griffin, Joe Carpenter, Karl Marriott and Ben Batchelor secured a silver medal in the table tennis.
The boys' football team managed to finish fourth, with the girls' team impressing with another silver medal.
