THE North Herts Schools' under-11 champions from Greneway School booked themselves a semi-final place in the prestigious Hertfordshire Wix Trophy tournament.
Sixteen of the best football teams in the county came together at Parmiters' School in Watford for the quarter-final stage of the competition.
The winners of each of the four groups would progress to the semi-finals and final to be held at Clarence Park, the home of St Albans FC.
Greneway, playing in their new, Football Foundation sponsored kit entertained Breachwood Green School of Hitchin in their opening match, where captain Cemal Ramadan gave them the perfect start with a goal after just 27 seconds.
Despite dominating the rest of the play, Ramadan's strike proved to be the only goal of the game, with Jordan Campbell, Stephen Thake, Jamie Stimson, Justin Leavers, Matt Moore and Reece King all in impressive form.
In their second match, Greneway came up against a previously unbeaten Brookmans Park side, but once again Greneway keeper Ben Reddan had very little to do as a powerful Ramadan strike from distance proved to be the difference.

Greneway squad: Huttlestone, Harness, Ramadan, Thake, Campbell, Leavers, Moore, Freeman, Stimson, Reddan, King, Jonas.
