Greneway Middle School basketball star Daisy Needham has been selected to represent the East Region U15 team at an upcoming national inter-regional finals after some impressive showings for the Hertfordshire U15s in a national inter-county tournament in Norwich.
Hertfordshire took two wins out of three as they comfortably defeated Norfolk 33-14 and then Suffolk 17-16.
However, Essex proved too strong, beating Herts 26-11.
In the play-off match for a chance of revenge against Essex, Herts had to overcome Suffolk.
This proved too much though as fatigue allowed Suffolk to progress but leaving Herts with a well-deserved team bronze.
Despite being only 13, Daisy is making strides in the game and plays at a level two years beyond her age.
Daisy started her basketball at Greneway Middle School and extended her skills further, playing in the North Herts Schools’ U12 and U13 leagues and county school games finals.
